Homemade Recipe Box
I wanted a recipe card box for my recipes so I dug around my closet and found this little file box.
It holds 5 x 8 index cards. I painted it and then glued on a Jolee’s Boutique keyhole cover that I purchased from eksuccessbrands.com/Jolees for an embellishment.
I took an old pop opener I had and stuck a self adhesive magnet to it. It will stick to the metal box and I can prop up my recipe cards on it for easy viewing.
I recycled some old index files by cutting them down to 5 x 8 then stained the edges with a brown ink pad. I created a recipe card template on Microsoft Publisher that I saved onto my desktop. I just pop in a new recipe then save it. I can put two recipes on one sheet of 8 x 11 card stock and print. I cut them apart and place in my new recipe box. It works great.
